The Clash — London Calling
Whenever I start listening to The Clash, this feeling of “I
wantneed to go back there” invades my brain and body and soul and yeah well, I actually end up looking for flights to take me to London.
This is just how I feel right now, after such a looong day, The Clash just reminded me that I probably should be taking a plane soon.
Ahem… London calling.
Love this song!

#standwithme: Instagrammers Come Together in Support of Freedom

This past Saturday, Instagrammers around the world came together in support of freedom and ending child slavery.
InstaMeets in Hong Kong, New York City, Mexico City, San Francisco and beyond coincided with the premiere of #standwithme (@standwithme), a documentary by Stillmotion (@stillmot) telling the story of 10-year-old Vivienne Harr and her efforts to end child slavery. After her parents showed her a photo of child workers in Nepal, Vivienne decided to open a lemonade stand and ask people to pay with “what’s in your heart” to free child slaves with the funds. After manning the stand for 365 days straight and raising over $100,000, Vivienne still wasn’t done. She and her family founded #MakeAStand! Lemon-Aid, a fair-trade lemonade company that donates a portion of its profits to leading anti-slavery organizations around the world.
To learn more about Vivienne and her family’s efforts and the plight of child slaves across the world, check out the #standwithme film and watch the trailer below.
"Soft Bloom" Makeup Look
This is pretty much a face that I wear daily to work or for casual outings, with slight variations on the exact shades used.
The eye look is very soft but defined at the lashes and socket using browns. Here, I used a metallic brown pencil and very pearlescent blush, but on most days I’ll use a matte brown and a less shimmery blusher.
- Base: Dior Nude liquid foundation 021
- Concealer: Addiction Perfect Concealer Covering 01
- Setting Powder: Heroine Make Mineral BB Loose Powder 01
- Blush: MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Lust (you can get a similar glowing pink cheek effect by swirling your brush over all 4 shades of The Body Shop’s new Spring 2014 Shimmer Cubes 26!)
- Brows: Shu Uemura Hard Formula 9 pencil in Seal Brown + Canmake Coloring Brow Mascara 01
- Eyeshadows: Dior 5 Couleur palette in 754 Rosy Tan
- Brown liner: Bourjois Effet Metallise pencil in 52
- Black mascara: Maybelline Great Lash in Blackest Black
- Lipstick: Rouge Dior Nude Lip Blush* in 263 Swan
A note on Lip Blush: This is a sub-range of the new Rouge Diors (remember the recent ad with Natalie Portman in a soft red 999). Unlike the other Rouge Diors, this group of nude tones are created to work like color-perfecting lip balms that add a “blush” effect on the lips so they never look too corpse-like.
